County highway engineer resigns

BROOKINGS – Brookings County Highway Engineer Dennis Clark has resigned his job, and county commissioners decided Tuesday they will again advertise to hire an engineer to fill the position.

Clark, a Brandon resident, took the job in November 2011. He is a certified civil engineer and was being paid on the county’s wage grade 14, a salary of over $63,000 per year.

Clark submitted his resignation Sept. 27, with a note thanking commissioners for the chance to serve Brookings County and saying “I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity but must do what I feel is best for me and my family.”
