BROOKINGS – Have you ever wanted to add your “two cents worth” to a public policy discussion, or do you have an idea or two you think might improve a city recreation program?

The City of Brookings has a vacancy on the Park & Recreation Board, effective immediately. The person chosen for the post will fill an unexpired term through May 1, 2013.
Park & Rec board members provide advice to the director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry and assist in administration of Brookings’ public park system, recreation programs and forestry program.
The board also advises city council and makes recommendations on matters regarding park capital improvements and planning.
The nine-member board meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Members serve three-year terms, and city residency is not required.
