BROOKINGS — An attempted forced entry into a vehicle is being investigated by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, per a Friday news release from the office.
The incident, which was reported at 8:52 p.m. Thursday and is thought to have occurred between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 4:30 a.m. Thursday, took place in the 3200 block of West 32nd Street South, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring wrote. It involved a 2019 Ford F-150 that had its keyless entry pad forcibly removed. Damage was estimated at $100.
Residents in the area are being asked to check their security cameras, Sebring wrote. Should suspicious activity be found, contact dispatch and a deputy will meet with the reporting party.
