Eighty runners from eight states tackled the Longest Day 10k on Friday evening with SDSU runner Ronnie Kyllo winning the overall title in 34:29. The women's overall winner was Ramsey (Kavan) Fitzsimmons, who runs for the University of South Dakota, and is one of the state's most decorated high school distance runners. Her time was 39:08. Other winners included: 25 and under (Male) - Sean Fitzsimmons, Vermillion, 34:40; (Female) - Kari Linnenman, Volga, 43:11; 26-39 (Male) - Sean Clark, Chicago, Ill., 38:21; (Female) - Laura Carrow, Pipestone, Minn., 42:22. 40-49 (Male) - Paul Casseri, Brookings, 44:10; (Female) - Jill Moncur, Sioux Falls, 43:08. 50 and older (Male) - Matt Reckmeyer, Lincoln, Neb., 42:01. The youngest finisher was 10-year-old Ben Vukovich of Brookings, who ran 49:21, and the oldest was Jim Thvedt (75) of Brookings with a 63:18.
