BROOKINGS – “Storm drainage” isn’t a red-hot topic of coffee conversation in Brookings, but ask any resident who’s had his street or his basement flooded and he’ll tell you how important it is.
Storm drainage – specifically the city’s channel-cleaning policies – was the lead item at this week’s Brookings City Council study session.
And while there wasn’t much in the way of dramatic revelation, councilors got a primer in how the city’s engineering staff is managing stormwater flow in and around the city.
