• Nearly all 2012 projects completed successfully
BROOKINGS – At the beginning of 2012, City Manager Jeff Weldon handed the council a list of more than two dozen municipal projects, including things like the construction of drainage ponds and new city parks, the remodeling of the City Hall building, and the completion of construction and move to the new Brookings City & County Government Center.
It was, Weldon said at the time, one of the most ambitious single-year work schedules the city had ever undertaken.
“These were supplemental projects, above and beyond the normal, day-to-day routine of government service,” he said.
On Tuesday of the past week, he told the council that for the most part, they’re all done, and it’s been a year of remarkable success for the city.
