Holidays add fire hazard to home

BROOKINGS – Decorating homes and businesses is a longstanding tradition around the holiday season.

Unfortunately, these same decorations may increase your chances of fire, says Chief Darrell Hartmann of the Brookings Fire Department.

Hartmann offers a few simple fire safety tips that can keep electric lights, candles and that ever-popular Christmas tree from creating a tragedy.
