Commissioners want faster progress on fire radio problem

• Bruce, White agencies complaining of bad coverage for 15 years

BROOKINGS – Brookings County commissioners tried to light a fire under Emergency Manager Todd Struwe on Tuesday, asking for quicker progress on improving fire radio coverage.

Commissioner Dennis Falken and Sheriff Marty Stanwick also said they don’t think the county should have to pay for two more repeaters that will relay the fire calls to emergency responders throughout the county.
