• Board members will first ask teachers what they want
BROOKINGS – The Brookings school board may be asking patrons for a second opt-out to the state property tax freeze, to fund education as it believes it should be in Brookings.
But first, the board will develop a big-picture vision for the Brookings School District, based not on what money the state provides but on what the district believes its needs are. The board will begin that process by visiting each school to witness how things are running, and hosting a listening session with each school’s staff.
