Black Friday booming in Brookings

Black Friday shopping can get a little crazy, even in Brookings.

Shoppers crowd around and then have trouble moving beyond pallets of special bargains at the Brookings Walmart Supercenter, where merchandise advertised at deep discounts started flying off shelves at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The entertainment section and the aisle in front of it gets especially hectic as shoppers stake their claims to toys, video game systems and games, movies, flat-screen TVs and other popular electronics.
