• Not guaranteed, but council will put proposed ordinance to a vote
BROOKINGS – Police Chief Jeff Miller this week threw his considerable weight behind a proposed ordinance that would ban texting while driving in Brookings.
“I’d rather have something in place rather than wait for another tragedy to happen in Brookings,” Miller told the Brookings City Council Tuesday.
The chief’s comments were delivered as part of the council’s regular monthly study session, during which the board takes an in-depth look at current city issues.
