• Officials commend middle school staff, say incident report will be made more user-friendly
BROOKINGS – During the first school board meeting since a widely talked-about incident of bullying at Mickelson Middle School, one board member and the district’s superintendent addressed the issue this week.
Marysz Rames, board member, said she attended a meeting of Mickelson’s PTA on Nov. 8. She estimated 15 parents, including PTA leaders, were there. Rames commended Mickelson principal Melinda Jensen on how she presented the district’s protocol for handling incidents of bullying and the programs in place surrounding it.
