BROOKINGS – Behind Legends & Learning, a new educational website of the South Dakota Hall of Fame, is a desire to help today’s students understand they can achieve great things – just like the successful South Dakota natives they’ll read about.

“These are South Dakotans; they’re just like you and I. And yet, because of their hard work and their efforts, they’ve gone on to accomplish great things. And you too, kids, can go on to do that,” said Susan Turnipseed, technology teacher at Camelot Intermediate School and director of the project.

Legends & Learning is the brainchild of Todd Knutson, president and CEO of the Hall of Fame, who taught South Dakota history for 13 years.
