BROOKINGS – The South Dakota Department of Transportation re-opened the Interstate 29 northbound lanes from mile marker 123.8 to mile marker 139.8 near Brookings on Thursday.Motorists can still expect lane closures on I-29 in the southbound and northbound lanes for approximately three additional weeks while crews construct detour ramps for next year’s planned construction of the southbound lanes.
Drivers should use caution and slow down when traveling through the construction zone and expect suddenly slowing and merging traffic.
