Now that county officials have moved into the Brookings City & County Government Center to the south of the courthouse, the county is renovating the courthouse to make room for a needed expansion in court use.

Commissioners on Tuesday toured the former offices of the Brookings County treasurer and auditor, as well as the former boardroom, all on the building’s first floor. Once that work is complete, contractors will move on to renovating the second floor.
