Chowing down burgers at the Nick's Hamburger Eating Contest on Saturday were, from left, Lowell Decoteau, Jon Hanson, Todd Torgerson and Remington Lanego. Not pictured are Kenny Tomek and Ted Elverson.
In the 10-minute contest, Torgerson put down and kept down 12 3/4 burgers. He came in second in 2009, when he wolved down 13 burgers. This year's victuals victory brought him $50 and a fancy winner's shirt.
Keeping an eye on the contestants and the time clock was Nick's owner-operater Dick Fergen.
