New polling place for Precinct 3

BROOKINGS – Voters belonging to Brookings County’s Precinct 3 will report to a new location next month to cast their ballots: The Brookings Activity Center.

Precinct 3 includes the area of Brookings that is south of Sixth Street, north of Eighth Street South and west of Medary Avenue. Up to now, its residents voted at the former Brookings City Hall. That building still holds the Brookings Police Department and is being renovated to become the Brookings Public Safety Center. As such, it will not be suitable as a polling place.

The Brookings County Commission voted Tuesday to have Precinct 3 residents vote at the Brookings Activity Center, at 320 Fifth Ave., for all future countywide elections.
