Flag raising set for Aug. 28 at gov’t center

BROOKINGS – City and county officials will take part in a special flag-raising ceremony Tuesday (Aug. 28) at the Brookings City & County Government Center.

The event, which gets under way at 3 p.m., is the first official flag raising for the new facility in downtown Brookings.

As part of the ceremony, South Dakota Rolling Thunder of Brookings, Chapter 2, will present a POW/MIA flag to the center.

Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served on the third floor of the city-county building, Room 340.

The public is welcome to attend.
