The moving process for Brookings County and the City of Brookings is in full swing. On Monday, the county moved five offices – Finance, Register of Deeds, Commission, Veterans/Human Services, and Equalization from the Brookings County Courthouse to the Brookings City & County Government Center. All those offices can be accessed at the new building as of today.

The City of Brookings started transferring offices from City Hall to the joint government center today, and the county’s State’s Attorney and Planning & Zoning offices will move from the 1921 Building to 520 Third St. on Thursday.
“Thank you again for your patience as we continue to transition our offices and get organized in our new surroundings,” said Commission Assistant Stephanie Ellwein. “(Monday) was a very successful day with lots of work done and progress made. Thanks to Perkins Storage & Transfer for moving in such an efficient manner!”
