PIERRE – On Wednesday, June 13, Volga will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day, and the governor’s office this week announced the event’s schedule.
Activities for the day include a coffee hour with Gov. Dennis Daugaard, a Main Street walk, tours and meetings around town.
The coffee hour will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Volga City Hall; residents can speak one-on-one with the governor and other state officials during the informal event.
Community members are also encouraged to attend the Education Financing and Health Care Reform –Medicare/Medicaid roundtable meeting at the Volga Community Center from 1 - 2 p.m.
The day concludes with a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Pioneer Hi-Bred’s recently expanded research center. That event will be held at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Hi-Bred, 211 Caspian Ave.
