BROOKINGS, "It was kind of like seeing an old friend."
That was the reaction not long ago when Brookings resident Matt Fuks was reunited with his boyhood bicycle, which he hadn't seen for about 35 years.

Jackrabbits crush UALR 67-42

BROOKINGS, South Dakota State shook off a slow start and smashed UALR 67-42 in a nonconference women's basketball game Thursday night at Frost Arena.

Egan grain bin collapses

Snow wasn't the only thing on Highway 34 after a grain bin collapsed in Egan, resulting in about 40,000 bushels of corn spilling onto a section of Highway 34, closing part of the highway. Drivers are being diverted through Egan.
